NEWS from the Director

  • *Packet pickup will be on April 4, 2014 from noon-6pm. You may also pick up your race packet on Race Day from 5:30am-7:00am

    *You must have proper identification to pick up your packet. NO ONE will be allowed to pick up another’s packet. USAT members-remember your card and ID. Non-USAT members bring ID and $12. No credit cards can be accepted for the 1 day license. Annual memberships will be available for purchase for $45

    All youth ages 17 and under are required to be annual USAT members to compete in sanctioned events in 2014. The cost of an annual youth membership is $15 per year, $10 for one day. Please be sure to include the signed waivers and/or a list of participants that signed up online with your post race materials. This information is essential for our Membership Department to process the memberships. For more information on the Youth Annual Membership, please visit the USAT membership section of the web site.

    The timing system will be Championchip. You will have to pick up your chip Saturday morning at the pavilion next to the transition area. There will be a $30 charge for any chips not returned.  

    Transition area will open at 5:30am. Please refrain from arriving at the park before 5:30am.  

    Parking is limited inside the park and is approx. ¼ - ½ mile from the transition area. Make arrangements to carry your race gear this distance. Carpooling is highly encouraged. There will be volunteers to guide you to the parking area.

    Do not park on the side of the roadways inside the park-follow the volunteers’ direction.  

    Body marking will be at the entrance to the transition area. You must have your race number to be body marked.

    Clydesdale/Athena : Weigh-ins will begin at 5:30am at packet pickup at the pavilion and will end at the start of the race. Please do not over dress. You may be asked to remove your shoes. Swimsuits are acceptable. No wetsuits at weigh-in.

    If you need assistance during the swim, wave your hand in the air. The guards are watching you.

    If you drop out of the swim, you MUST immediately notify the Swim Marshall. There will be volunteers to collect your chip. You may continue the event, but you will not record a time.

    NO SWIM STARTS AFTER 8:00AM

    You must walk out of the transition area to mount your bike.

    Watch for cars on the bike course. We do everything possible to ensure your safety but we cannot control everyone. The course should still be considered open to vehicles. Pay attention.

    You must dismount your bike prior to re-entering the transition area.

    This is a sanctioned USAT event and therefore all USAT rules will be strictly enforced. If you are not familiar with the rules please go to

    If you leave the park, you will be charged $4.00 to regain entry.

    There will be post-race food and beverages at the race site.

    Awards will begin immediately following the end of the race.

    We are fortunate to be allowed to hold this triathlon in such a beautiful venue. We hope that you will respect our park, so that the Red Hills Triathlon will be allowed to return next year. Enjoy your race!
